She began her teaching career at CGS in 1969, gifting an amazing 49 years of service to the children of the school, only retiring in 2018. Her dedication to her students was exemplary and she would work tirelessly to ensure that every student reached their desired grade and goal. She will be greatly missed by everyone that worked with her and who was taught by her, and after 49 years of service this amounts to a very large number of people. Indeed, national recognition of her long service came in 2019, when she was awarded the MBE in the late Queen’s birthday honours list. We will not forget her or her work – she was an inspiration to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.
